When I wasn't at Crystal Voyage doing readings, or just resting my body from the intensity of channelling, I spent some time this weekend to not only plan my next Funkifabrics top, but to also get my Jalie 2795 Hoodie traced out. I prefer to leave the printed Jalie pattern uncut and trace onto other paper. I use a nice big roll of butcher paper.
The next challenge is to:
- determine where the waist is
- how the transition from CC waist to EE hip will affect the pocket
My next step will be to measure the lengths and widths of the pattern vs. my own body, then make adjustments to the pattern that also allow for easy alteration once the fabric is cut out. For example, I wouldn't want to cut it too short to accommodate my short waist, rather, I will mark on the cut fabric where I intend to shorten to, then sew as designed and determine if I'd like to make that short waist:hip length alteration after. It's easier to cut away than it is to try and patch in missing fabric!
