Polyvore: InDigit - Tropical Sun Dress Inspiration

Thanks to Sarai and the Colletterie, I discovered Polyvore.

WOW! What a fun way to pull together fashion inspiration and also directly credit the fashion designers & help you link directly to buy the dress if you are so inspired.  They also have home & beauty stuff to collage, plus you can shop on the site as well as see sets created by other users.  It's really fascinating. I loved creating my own collage/set.

It's about time we had tools like this.  I love to share and love that we can easily credit and link. THANK YOU software devs & companies who paid to create and maintain this technology. THANK YOU!  Because it ain't free kids. And it takes a lot of work.

My collection of dresses is inspired by:
Tropical Local, Digital Prints, Hawaiian and Florida Keys, Tropical foliage and flowers, colors of the water and nature.

To try the site out, I created a collection built around my favorite colors and themes in my life since...  well, let's see.  Since I first painted the beautiful tropical waters of Florida over 10 years ago. I love the bright, cheerful colors of the tropics. The brighter the better. They make some of our grey Seattle days more cheery. I've also finally been able to buy fabric in these colors to sew with. It's been a long time coming and most colors available have been neutrals (black, greys, navys, etc.), jewel tones, muted tones of all sorts, earth tones, and odd pastels that fake like they're a bright color but really are muted.

Digital prints have been in fashion for a year or 2 now and I'm seeing them in all kinds of places from yoga leggings like Teeki to some of the dresses you see above.  I love all the different ways designers and sewists are playing with the digital patterns.  I'm finally seeing some fabrics available to the public for purchase that we can play with.
Have you tried to sew with any Digital Prints or Bright Colors?

Do they interest you?

Or would you rather purchase RTW from a nice shop like Teeki?
None of the information I've shared on this post is sponsored.
I receive no funding to talk about these designers, fashions, or fabrics.  I'm sharing because I love it.
